Fall foods are something we all look forward to every year. Winter looms, so we begin to take comfort in our food during the autumn months. This fall is a great time to rethink some of our favorite foods, and what better way to do so than to bring all natural fried onions to the forefront! This day and age, we're eating healthier and watching our intake of artificial ingredients, but we also want flavor. All natural fried onions certainly fit the bill, but here's the big question - how do we use them?

Here are some great ways all-natural fried onions can make your fall menu familiar, as well as unique and stylish:

Tailgate Hot Dog Condiment - OK. So, this isn't the most chic food in the world. But fall brings football, and with it comes tailgating. Sure, everyone has the usual ketchup, mustard, and relish for their hot dogs, but set yourself apart from the crowd by having all-natural fried onions as a difference maker! Their simple indulgence will make the everyday frankfurter a sure-fire crowd-pleaser.

Oklahoma Fried Onion Burgers - Again, burgers aren't the most avant-garde food, but this flavorful spin makes them must-haves! Here's what you need:

- Thinly sliced onion
- Salt and pepper
- Ground beef
- Butter
- Vegetable oil
- American cheese (slices)
- All-natural crispy fried onions
- Toasted hamburger buns

Combine onion slices & salt in a bowl then put onions in colander for 30 mins (toss occasionally). Put onions in a clean dish towel and squeeze out as much liquid as you can over sink. Divide onions into separate mounds on a rimmed baking sheet. Roll beef into lightly packed balls and put them on top of onion mounds. Flatten beef firmly with palm so onion sticks to beef. Season with salt and pepper. Melt butter with oil in 12-inch skillet on medium heat. With spatula, move patties to skillet, onion side down. Cook for 6-8 mins until onions turn deep golden brown & start to crisp on edges. Flip burgers & raise heat to high. Cook until well browned on second side (about 2 mins). Add all-natural fried onions, then add slices of cheese to burgers & melt. Add your choice of toppings to bun. Serve immediately.

Mashed Potato Casserole

- Medium-sized potatoes (cubed)
- Butter
- Sour cream
- Shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- Fresh chopped chives
- All-natural crispy fried onions
- Crumbled bacon

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Butter a casserole dish. Put potatoes into saucepan & add enough cold water to cover; bring to boil. Cover then reduce heat & cook for 20 mins then drain. Mash potatoes then add butter, sour cream, some cheddar cheese, and chives. Stir until mixed well. Put mashed potato mixture into casserole dish then into oven. Bake for 20-25 mins. During the last few minutes in oven add rest of cheddar cheese, bacon pieces, and crispy fried onions. Return to oven and bake until cheese melted.

- Cinnamon
- Red lentils (rinse until water runs clear)

Heat olive oil in large pot on medium heat. Sauté onion & garlic until soft, then add the spices & cook for 5-6 mins. Add carrots & sauté 10-12 mins until tender. Add vegetable broth, diced tomatoes, and lentils & combine. Simmer on low heat for 20 mins until lentils tender. Use blender for a creamy soup & blend soup in batches. - Dried oregano
- Salt & pepper
- One jar of spaghetti sauce
- Olive oil
- Diced sweet red pepper

- Cream Cheese
- Milk
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- All-natural crispy fried onions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook spaghetti until al dente. Drain well & set aside. In large skillet, brown beef then add oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned then move to paper towel to drain. Keep one tablespoon of fat from skillet. Add peppers & onions to skillet and sauté until soft. Add cream cheese & milk to skillet then stir until combined. In separate bowl mix cooked beef & spaghetti sauce. In 9"x13"baking dish, add some of the sauce-meat mix and spread to cover bottom. Add all spaghetti to baking dish & spread evenly. Add cream cheese & vegetable mix & spread evenly. Add rest of sauce-meat mix to baking dish and spread evenly. Cover casserole with Parmesan cheese. Bake 20-25 mins until cooked through center. Top with all-natural crispy fried onions & 5 mins (watch carefully so onions don't burn). Serve immediately.
